Como apresentar a minha família?
My family are coming to visit me in Portugal. This is how I prepared.
OK, I made lost of mistakes in this one. But that just means I am learning more about what I don’t know.

A minha família está a chegar de Inglaterra neste fim de semana. Eu queria fazer alguns preparativos com antecedência.
Sei que tenho de apresentar a minha família aos meus amigos e vizinhos. Quero dizer, vou ter muito prazer em apresentar os meus amigos e vizinhos à minha família.
Então, gostaria de criar um pequeno livro que posso guardar na minha bolsa, com vocabulário e frases úteis para os apresentar.

How to fold your mini-book
Print double-sided on one sheet of A4 paper, at Actual Size / 100%. Choose “Flip on short edge” if your printer asks.
Fold the sheet lengthways — bring the two long edges together. Crease firmly, then open it again.
Fold the sheet in half across the middle — bring the two short edges together. Crease and open again.
Fold the top and bottom edges into the centre fold. You should now have eight equal panels marked by the creases.
Fold the panels back and forth like a concertina, then close it up with APRESENTAR A FAMÍLIA on the front.
No cutting, staples or glue needed.
It sounds more complicated than it is — I’ll add a short folding video soon.
And back to my review of my português…
For anyone new here, I deliberately write in longhand, in my target language (EU PT) and then use Ai to report grammatical errors, then I re-write it longhand again to try to embed the learning. I usually then ask the Ai to give me the same text in a more natural PT, so I can move from grammatical correctness to idiomatic understanding. However, I didn’t this time.
I then reflect on that experience, which may well be the most valuable part.
BTW I have other (paid) work to do for my day job, and I want that out of the way before my family visits, so this is a short article - and my last post for a week or so.
Don’t cheer. That would be unseemly.
Now there is an expression that is both outdated and wonderful.

The 8 grammatical points are:
alguns preparações → algumas preparações
apresentar a minha família dos meus amigos → …aos meus amigos
ter muito prazer a apresentar → ter muito prazer em apresentar
um pequeno livro o que posso… → um pequeno livro que posso…
as frases útil → as frases úteis
por apresentar… → para apresentar…
apresentar eles → apresentá-los / os apresentar
O que achas? … Pode… → mixing tu and você; with achas, it should be Podes…
The 2 other errors/issues are:
em advance — English inserted where Portuguese is needed, e.g. com antecedência
fazer uma resposta — understandable and grammatically constructible, but not the normal Portuguese collocation; responder or deixar uma resposta is better.
